We’ve been able to record audio on our phones for years. Capturing the moment is still the hard part.

I built Field. because I wanted a recorder that handled the context automatically — location, weather, ambient sound identification, a live transcript of whatever I was saying out loud — so I could stay present instead of managing the tools.

Recordings export as BWF files with embedded markers, location metadata, and Sound ID tags that import directly into Logic Pro, Reaper, and Pro Tools. The idea was to close the gap between capture and post-production — no manual tagging, no lost context.

I also made a Pro version that adds on:  iCloud sync, custom folders, audio trimming, bookmarks, and waveform video export. Everything else is free.

All the processing happens on your phone to promote privacy first.
